1st XI

The 1st XI have been strong in the BUCS SE league for several years having finished a close 2nd to very strong opposition in division 2A for the past two seasons. Last season the team recorded some outstanding achievements, winning all but one of 25 matches. The team are current holders of the BUCS SE Conference Cup, as well as the ULU Premier Division and ULU Challenge Cup. These results have further strengthened the position of UCLU as the most successful club in the London area. Our aim this season is gaining promotion to the highest BUCS division in the region and we are hoping for a strong intake of new players in 2011 to help achieve this.

2nd XI

Playing for the 2s is all about balancing good, competitive hockey, with the strong and (often competitive) social scene before and after our matches. With a newly elected team of social secs organizing the social side, my job as 2s captain lies with the hockey-playing. The Mens 2nd XI compete both in ULU and BUCS cup and league competitions. In the past we have competed strongly in the BUCS SE 4th Division, but have been narrowly beaten to promotion come the end of the season. This year we hope to build on the recent successes of the 1s and 3s by achieving promotion, and with competition for places in the Mens Club fiercer than ever, this can only bode well for prospects in 2012!
